The holidays are almost here, and our city is filled to the
brim with festive events. These are a few of the holiday events in Toronto you can
add to your calendar this year to get into the spirit of the season.
Toronto Christmas Market
Nothing quite says “It’s time for Christmas!” quite liked the Toronto Christmas Market. This annual market takes place from Nov. 14 to Dec. 22 in the Distillery Historic District. You can browse a range of unique vendors with hand-crafted items, enjoy festive treats, and even meet Santa. There’s plenty of family-friendly entertainment, too — it’s been rated one of the top 10 holiday markets in the world, after all.
Aurora Winter Festival
For a magical winter experience, don’t forget to visit the Aurora Winter Festival. This event, which stretches from Nov. 22 to Jan. 5, turns Ontario Place into a winter wonderland. A skating ring, tube park, Christmas market, and amusement rides are enhanced by the beautiful light displays that make it a must-see night-time event.
Toronto Zoo’s Holiday Animal Enrichment Days
Why not celebrate the holidays with some exotic animals? Every year at the Toronto Zoo, the animals get to celebration their own festive season with the zoo’s Holiday Animal Enrichment Days. During these days, the zookeepers provide the animals with festive versions of their normal enrichment activities. These activities help the animals mimic their natural behaviours and typically include puzzle feeders, unique scents, and various foods.
