Did you know that a recent superhero film included cameos from two Hyundai vehicles? The all-new IONIQ 5 and all-new Tucson both made brief appearances in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” as part of an exciting partnership between Sony Pictures and Hyundai.
Leading up to the film’s release last December, a pair of commercials aired online and on televisions globally. The long-form “Only Way Home” commercial stars Tom Holland as a stranded Peter Parker after the events of the previous film. As he’s suited up as Spider-Man and walking along a deserted highway, his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) pulls up in the all-electric IONIQ 5 to take Peter back to New York City to face his fate.
The second commercial includes actual clips from “No Way Home,” with Peter standing atop the new Tucson as he prepares to face a villain. Additional footage of the Tucson zooming through city streets accompanies the film scenes, with a disclaimer unfortunately stating that web shooters are not included with the sporty SUV.
This isn’t the first time Hyundai vehicles have partnered with superheroes — and it won’t be the last. A custom Hyundai Veloster appeared in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” as Ant-Man’s getaway vehicle. Hyundai also has campaigns for the new “Uncharted” film as well as the upcoming “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One),” set to debut in October.
Our team at Downtown Hyundai in Toronto, Ontario, is always excited to see Hyundai vehicles getting in the spotlight of major motion pictures. Come visit us to drive your own movie star of a vehicle home today.
Automakers often attend various auto shows to introduce their lineup of advanced vehicles to critics and the public. Hyundai recently made appearances at both the Montreal and Quebec EV shows to display a few innovative vehicles of its own.
For the
first time in Quebec, the leader in EV adoption in Canada, the fully-electric
IONIQ 5 CUV was on display. This efficient vehicle offers a driving range of
470-480 km and can be charged up to 80 percent in only 18 minutes. Additionally,
a quick 5-minute charge gives you 100 km of range.
Also in
attendance was the Kona Electric, which was refreshed for the 2022 model year.
This EV was available for test drives in the Road Test Zone, allowing visitors
to experience the comfortable and advanced interior of the subcompact
crossover. The Hydrogen-powered NEXO caught the attention of many, as it is
just one of two vehicles of its kind currently available in Canada and offers
an outstanding estimated 570 km of range.
There were
also a few hybrid vehicles at the auto shows, including the Tucson PHEV, Santa
Fe PHEV, and the Elantra Hybrid. These three models represent the versatility
of Hyundai’s eco-friendly lineup of a compact crossover, midsize SUV, and sedan.
To see any of these vehicles for yourself or to simply learn more about them, feel free to contact our team at Downtown Hyundai in Toronto, Ontario.
An exciting new development is in the works. Hyundai recently introduced the all-new Elantra N performance sedan. Joining the Kona and Tucson, the Elantra is the latest model to receive these exhilarating style and powertrain updates.
“Hyundai Motor’s high-performance N brand constantly aims to
provide customers with a range of exciting choices for increased driving
pleasure,” said Till Wartenberg, Vice President and Head of N Brand Management
& Motorsport sub-division at Hyundai Motor Company. “ELANTRA N is the
purest expression of our mission to date.”
Thrilling Performance
Under the hood of the new Elantra N is a turbocharged
2.0-litre direct-injection engine that delivers 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of
torque with the available N eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (N DCT).
You can temporarily amp up the Elantra N to 286 horsepower with N Grin Shift
(NGS), which boosts the pressure to give you more power. The standard
transmission is a close-ratio six-speed manual that offers a more classic feel
when shifting. Additional high-performance standard features include the N
Corner Carving Differential, a Variable Exhaust Valve System, and Launch
Control.
Exceptional Style
Complementing the sporty performance of the Elantra N is its
athletic style — inside and out. The exterior takes on a more aggressive
appearance thanks to a lip spoiler on the lower fascia as well as the
N-exclusive red strip that starts in the front and continues to the side
valance. The rear features an N-exclusive wing spoiler with a rear diffuser
that helps with airflow for improved aerodynamics. Inside, N-branded elements
can be found on the steering wheel, seats, gear shifter, metal pedals, and door
scuff panels.
The new Hyundai Elantra N is expected to arrive at dealerships by the end of the year. For more details about this exhilarating vehicle, contact our team at Downtown Hyundai in Toronto, Ontario.

The Elantra has been a part of the Hyundai lineup for more than 30 years and is highly regarded as a reliable, stylish sedan. Over time, the model has received various updates — inside and out. Now, Hyundai is giving the popular sedan the “N” treatment, replete with performance-inspired features.
Till
Wartenberg, Vice President of the N brand Management & Motorsport
sub-division at Hyundai Motor Company, referred to the Elantra N as a
high-performance sedan and noted, “We designed it to be a race proven sports
car with dynamic driving capabilities and style that performance enthusiasts
love. I can’t wait to unveil Elantra N, an outstanding addition to the N brand
lineup that offers pulse-pounding performance. Stay tuned for the digital world
premiere.”

official specs have been released just yet, we can assume the Elantra will get
similar ratings as the Veloster N hatchback and Kona N hot SUV. Both models are
equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo GDI engine that delivers 276 horsepower. For
reference, the standard 2021 Elantra can reach a maximum of 147 horsepower with
its current 2.0-litre engine. Additional possible updates include multiple
driving modes, launch control, and an electronic limited-slip differential.
The new
Elantra N will also receive aesthetic updates to align with the N brand. Based
on the teaser images released by Hyundai, we’ll see five-spoke wheels with a
unique V-Y layout, red brake calipers with “N” branding, a rear spoiler, black
trim under the bumper, dual single exhaust outlets, and red side sills.

It should come as no surprise that Hyundai is debuting a thrilling new all-electric model, considering the brand made a commitment to introduce 23 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and sell 1 million BEV units by 2025. The first vehicle in that lineup is the all-new IONIQ 5 — an electric crossover utility vehicle set to disrupt the EV market with its impressive capabilities.
“IONIQ 5
introduces the Hyundai brand to a whole new set of buyers,” said José Muñoz,
president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. “Once behind the steering wheel,
they are going to be shocked by the range, power, comfort, interior space, and
advanced technology. Owning one is going to be a new experience and lifestyle
that only the IONIQ brand can provide.”
One of
those shocking abilities is ultra-fast 800-volt charging that gets the IONIQ 5
from 10 to 80 percent in only 18 minutes. On top of that, the CUV is expected
to reach a top driving range of 300 miles.
Inside, the
E-GMP design platform utilizes space, driving dynamics, and performance to
provide an enjoyable drive every time you get behind the wheel. Hyundai has
also filled the IONIQ 5 with smart technologies to help you stay connected and
safe. Some of those features include a Head-Up Display with Augmented Reality
mode, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and many Hyundai SmartSense
driver-assist systems.
